Towards West there is Taranto, the heart of Magna Grecia (ancient Greece), and then Matera, known for its “sassi” (ancient cave dwellings) and nominated European Capital of culture for 2019.The nearest airports are Brindisi and Bari, which are 30 minutes and 1 hour away by car, respectively.
