At six thirty most evenings, the mass of mountains known as “Dolomiti Lucane” or Basilicata’s version of the Dolomites, turn from blue to pink. Located high at 860 metres above the sea level, this villa originated from a 12 th century Benedectine monastery, and is a have of peace at altitude. Surrounded by gently sloping fields and ringed by mountains, in a word, it is seclusion. Completely refurbished from top to bottom, it features vaulted ceilings and stone cornices.
Outside a wonderful garden with several plants and flowers a 14 X 6 pool with sliding cover and a terraced patio for “dining al fresco” during the summer. The owners are worth a mention too, because we could not have hoped to come across more friendly, hospitable and informative people.
