The large swimming pool is surrounded by an extensive terrace, furnished with sun loungers, umbrellas and seating areas. It makes the ideal spot to relax in the sun after a refreshing dip. If you can tear yourself away from the tranquil gardens then the historic centre of Calimera is just a 5-minute drive. The town is known for its traditional white houses as well as palaces and beautiful churches. Calimera’s weekly market takes place on Thursday and is the best place to pick up the freshest local delicacies and experience authentic Puglian life.
Salento’s most beautiful beaches are all within easy reach. The beaches at Otranto (25 minutes), Porto Cesareo (45 minutes) and Gallipoli (45 minutes) are known for their pristine sea and shallow waters, ideal for younger children and snorkelling.
Golfers will enjoy the two courses near the town of Acaya (20 minutes) or for more exercise and a hike through unspoilt Mediterranean countryside, there is the WWF nature reserve of Le Cesine (25 minutes).
