Welcome to The Gate House, a restored country home in the Shropshire village of Claverley. It's a house that's been designed to be lived in. The rooms are generous, the gardens are private, and almost every space encourages you to slow the pace for a while.
Original beams, oak floors and a log burner give the house its character, while the kitchen and bathrooms have been updated to a very high standard. It feels like an old house that has quietly moved with the times.
The Gate House sleeps up to eight guests and is equally suited to a weekend away or a longer stay.
The house
The sitting room is the first place you'll want to claim. Light the fire when it's cold outside, stretch out on the sofa and forget about the time.
The kitchen is where everyone ends up.
There's an AGA, a large island, a wine cooler and enough room for people to cook without constantly apologising for being in each other's way. The dining table sits alongside the family area beneath a vaulted ceiling, with large windows looking straight out onto the garden.
