Positive: It’s well located right next to a river park with great access to the city’s biking/walking routes. There is a handy convenience store right next to the hotel and it is about a 30min walk or 10 min bike ride into the city center and the famous Dakgalbi Alley. There is a good bike rental place just 500m away, across the canal. There is free parking at the hotel. The area is a bit tight, but there is space. Our room was quite nice, a bit on the small side but bright, very well laid out, and well-organized. We had a nice view out over the canal and park and virtually no outside road noise when the windows were closed. In our room we had all of the mod-cons you’d expect from a mid-upper end hotel: TV, AC, free Wifi, fridge, hairdryer, toiletries & lotions, bathrobes, etc. – really impressive and comfortable.

Negative: On the negative side, the service was pretty bad. The guy who checked us in was a bit surly and hardly engaged with us at all, giving us virtually no information at all. He just gave us our key card and told us to go. We had paid for breakfast to be included in our room price, but when we went to eat, we found that the dining area was under renovation and they weren’t providing breakfast. We weren’t even given notice about this when we checked in and hotel management failed to provide any kind of alternative breakfast option, such as at the café next door. We found this to be very poor attention to customer service, even ignoring the fact that we had paid for this at the time of booking.

Summary: Great little budget hotel – but service needs attention
