Enjoy your time in Crete in this newly renovated, two-story suite with a cozy sitting room incorporating a well-equipped kitchenette and a full bathroom with walk-in shower on the main level. Upstairs you’ll find a large bedroom- reached by a spiral staircase. Perfect for 2 adults. The simple style allows the views to take center stage. Fully-air-conditioned with newly updated Wi-Fi connection.
This charming 500 sq. ft. unit enjoys a private patio to enjoy your coffee or relax with a book. Enjoy a unique view of the surrounding countryside from the upstairs bedroom or terrace below. A lovely pool is the centerpiece of the estate, where you can enjoy the beautiful views from the large terrace.
You enter the property by passing a long driveway surrounded by olive trees on both sides, each tree carefully tended to in order to produce the finest extra virgin olive oil each winter.
At the base of the driveway, you will find a small chapel that my dad proudly built to honor his mother and father. It was a collaboration of all his siblings- from the painting of the icons to the finishing touch of hanging the bell atop the chapel.
Alongside the chapel, there is a traditional wood-burning oven (fourno in Greek) that is heated with olive wood from the pruned trees. Today this oven is used more for special occasions with slow roasts than for the traditional baking of bread. The flavor of the food is like no other! A special dinner using this oven can be arranged upon request.
As you explore the surrounding landscape, you will find approximately 17 different fruit trees planted around the property, much to Yiannis’ pride- apricot, peach and pear trees- to name a few!
The inviting pool is centrally located with a surrounding terrace that provides stunning views of the sea, mountains and olive groves. Soak up the Mediterranean sun on the loungers dotting the terrace, or head to the shaded area next to the pool where you can enjoy a refreshing drink or read a book. Relax on the hammock tucked in the corner of the terrace and let the cicadas lull you to sleep, or explore the extensive grounds beneath the pool and find a peaceful shaded bench to enjoy the views of the sea or countryside. At day's end, watch the magnificent sunset while the swallows swoop down over the pool.
