The small, modest village Prinos is well away from touristic hotspots, approx. 2km further inland and 14 km east of Rethimno. It is a typical Cretan village with traditional houses and small alleys set in a quiet and romantic surrounding with olive groves and vine yards. The holiday house Prinos with is located on a large enclosed and well-maintained garden property. In direct vicinity is the property of the villa Elya that is also let to guests. The distance between the holiday houses is approx. 35m. The gardens are separated by a nice stone wall that also gives sight protection.
The holiday house Prinos is enclosed by a large wall and set in a quiet side alley of the village. Access to the property is through a gate. The nicely renovated, freestanding Cretan farm house with pool is tastefully furnished and provides a cultivated atmosphere to help you forget about everyday stress. In the large and wonderfully green garden with Mediterranean flowers and trees you can relax and enjoy a splash in the large pool or the simply relax on the sun terrace. On two floors the holiday house provides everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The high ceilings on the first floor and the combination of stone and wood add a touch of individual comfort to the interior. On the ground floor the interior is more modern and kept in pastel shades. The living room and dining area is on the first floor. Just two steps below the living room is the adjoining open kitchen with direct access to a terrace with a view of the village. An external staircase from the living room leads to the courtyard, garden and pool. An internal staircase leads to the ground floor of the holiday house. Three bedrooms and the shared bath, which was fully renovated in 2015, are on the ground floor. 2 of the bedrooms have a separate entry from outside and direct access to the courtyard terrace, the garden and the pool. A small hallway with a separate outside entrance to the courtyard is connected to the third, middle bedroom. The secluded courtyard with terrace and rustic, bricked ovens invite you to dine in private atmosphere. The 50sqm pool (5 x 10m, 0,70 to 1,4m deep, not heated, in operation from 1.05.-31.10.) is ideal for swimming or a refreshing splash for both children and adults.
The nearby town of Rethimno with its extensive promenade is ideal for a stroll. The small, picturesque Venetian harbour with its row upon row of tavernas and small boats is, if a little touristy, very atmospheric and enchanting. The pedestrian zone in the old town centre with its pretty narrow streets and traditional old houses is ideal for shopping and chic nights out. The 10 kilometres of sandy beaches that stretch along this stretch of coast from Rethimno to the north-east offer plenty of choice, with beach bars and natural beaches.
